Both the freeware & shareware versions are available. Give Winamp a shot, you may really like it.

A little awkward to use at first. Requires son patience, to get it to work the way you want it.

I use this program for a long time and have never had the desire to replace it with another. Rather the opposite. And just recently replaced with a new skin, without some of the excesses of classic skins and are now generally satisfied with everything!

It has a kick ass Podcasting system. I thought i would have no option but to either, build my own plugin for firefox, Run juice 24/7, Or make my own with a tiny footprint. After i started coding up my podcast downloader i found out that winamp is a good podcast fetcher. I tryed it and it rules, better than anything i can come up with after alot of work.

I tried other audio players like Foobar2000 and Alsong, but IMO Winamp remains the best. It reads so many audio formats, it's incredibly customizable and isn't a memory hog. It has the most intuitive and convenient interface. And there are hundreds of excellent plugins available out there.

I have tried many other audio players and always come back to winamp, its still the best! Without any problems, during the use for such a long time.

for many years using of Winamp, I have never tried to find a alternative for it. And honestly for me this is the best player. For those worried about memory usage switch to a classic skin and the memory drops alot.

utomatic album art download support is spotty at best. More importantly, there are some stability issues when playing videos, and occasional program crashes were far more common than they should be.

The new Bento layout is worth mentioning, too, because it gets the venerable llama away from the old modular format. The joined panes for the browser, media player, artist list, album list and more make WinAmp instantly more visually appealing.

What i like most it that clicking on an artist's name will get you related headlines and Web sites in a separate pane. Quite cool!

Yes ! It's not only a music player. If you want MP3 encoding and full-speed CD burning, you have to shell out $19.95 for the Pro version. I have tried it!

It's FREE !!! This is still one of the very best products to play mp3's and all your other music and if that's not enough it can play almost any type of video too. You can program it to play your own favourites, track by track or even random songs by using the playlist shuffling mode.

User friendly, easy to use interface. All the tools and options are right there in front of you, so there's no trouble finding what you need. Good old school looks and many different skins to ssuit your tastes.
