Always nice to have with so many features and so forth.

I prefer the previous version. It took a few less clicks to get from one page to another. And some of the changes seem arbitrary -- change for the sake of change. I'm also used to the older version and some habits become automatized. It takes a bit of effort to readjust and I'm not sure it's worth it.

Firefox used to have great Add-ons and were easy to use. Since this update not one add on works properly or at all in most cases. In a reset after the upgrade I lost all of my bookmarks and the new upgrade over wrote the "profile" so I couldn't get them back even when I tried to recover them from my backup.

Mostly free of immediate involvement with other corporations, such as Microsoft.

I used to love Firefox. It had everything I needed and a lot of really cool add ons to play around with. Firefox always started right up, never crashed and performed commands quickly. And THEN Firefox 4.0 arrived, and everything started to race downhill. It was crashing so often I couldn't get anything done! So many of my favorite apps and toolbars wouldn't work with this version, and that only added to my disappointment with 4.0. 5.0 came out not long afterward and it absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to work with. It froze up, ran too slow, then crashed. And now, even more of the add ons and toolbars that I used were no longer suppported! I was so outraged by this time, that I uninstalled ALL versions of Firefox and switched to Opera, a VERY efficient browser, with a lot of really great add ons. I often switched back and forth between Opera and Safari because both were useful and reliable. I've tried a LOT of browsers, and still find myself searching for the perfect one for my needs. I try to avoid Internet Explorer because it is so terribly annoying! Not long ago, I discovered Firefox 8.0 while searching for browsers and gave it a try. I have to admit, it was greatly improved. It was no longer crashing every few minutes, and there was no more freezing up. BUT, all but one or two of my favorite add ons and tools would not work with it. The Mozilla team used to be top rate and produced very useful and efficient browsers and utilities. I don't know where they went wrong, but they are FAR from being what they once were! Today, I find myself facing a new problem with Firefox, and error - either an HTTP or a SOCKS problem that is preventing me to access the Internet. I know it is NOT a problem with my network, because Opera, Safari, and even IE work just fine! The problem, then, MUST be with Firefox 8.0. I am just about out of patience with Mozilla and it's team of Slackers...
I'll give them 4 stars because I like their RSS Ticker.

FireFox is still my browser of choice but the newer version are quickly becoming garbage. I have reverted back to v3.6 and all is well. Every new release has me wishing for a fix on connectivity but it is not happening. It takes for ever to connect and once connected it has micro freeze for 1/2 second every minute or so.
I hope they fix this soon.

each new fire fox gets worse. most applications on the internet use the adobe plugins and they do not work on fire fox
slow connecting and waiting to connect are a constant problem. use the other browsers on the web and don t waste
your time. all the earlier editions worked fine. you con not enlarge to full screen on most websites using 7.0 to 9.0.
I am running a duo 4 2.4 gh core processor desktop w 4 gb memory igb video card 1 terabite hd window 7 ultimate on a 50 inch plazma . fire fox is going downhill fast. this is a fair and ballanced report. wake up firefox your loosing it!

Stick with 3.6.x if you want to keep all your ad-ons. So many do not work with this rapid release of new versions. I really do not get what it is for. Yes the new versions are a bit sleeker, but I like my toolbars and I positively cannot do without Java or All-in-One Toolbar. MOZILLA IT IS TIME YOU GET A GRIP ON THINGS!!!
