aaSiege was inspired in part by 1980s classic video games such as Atari’s Warlords.
aaSiege is a game for 1 to 4 players and is practically 3 games for the price of 1!...
1. Instant Play
You get a random level taken from the single player campaign mode - bang - straight into the action!
Instant Play gives you a sneak preview of what to expect in the campaign if you’ve got a spare 5 minutes.
2. Campaign Play
You work through more than 60 levels in a single player story mode fighting against computer AI opponents in many locations such as dungeons, on roads, at sea and in the air.
Many more levels will be added in future releases.
Help aalbert to free the rightful king aarthur, thwart the plans of the evil aattila and restore peace to the fair planet Aalbion (home of a thriving aardvark civilisation).
As you proceed by winning levels you unlock new styles, sound packs, AI players, power ups and layouts. Many of these can then be used in multiplayer mode.
From the campaign settings menu you can customise details of your player. You can even use a picture from the iPhone camera or photo library to create your own truly, personal image for your king!
You’re in full control of some serious multiplayer action! Besiege up to 3 human friends or computer AI opponents in their castles.
From the multiplayer settings menu you can customise details of your player, change what players or other objects to put in each quadrant, change styles, layouts etc to get your multiplayer match just how you like it.
You can even use pictures from the iPhone camera or photo library to create your own truly, personal images for each king!
GENERAL GAME PLAY
When you play aaSiege, the screen is always used in portrait mode and is divided into 4 parts or quadrants. There are up to 4 castles on the screen in any game level.
In each quadrant is either empty space or an object.- either a player (represented by a king or queen icon) or some other object of importance to the game.
Each player controls a shield to protect their castle. Human players do this by sliding a control knob from side to side across the full screen width.
During play, a ball bounces continually around the screen. In the most basic game levels the aim is simply to destroy all opponents' kings or queens. You do this by besieging their castles - bouncing the ball off castle bricks (which are usually destructible) and shields and screen edges (which are not) until it breaks through their defences and destroys the king or queen.
You must prevent your king or queen from being destroyed in the same way.
The last player whose monarch is still intact wins.
Some levels get more complicated than this!
YOU’RE IN CONTROL
Many aspects of the general look of the game can be also altered via the iOS settings menu.
There are 3 difficulty settings (easy, medium and aard!). When difficulty is set to aard!, sticky mode is switched on, you can then opt to stick the ball to your shield and release elsewhere rather than simply deflect the ball.
For a gentle introduction into the game, start playing in campaign mode as the first levels are simplest and designed for training.
A full tutorial is also included that can be accessed from within all the menu screens (including the pause menu during game play).
Good luck, the fate of aardvarks everywhere is in your hands!
