The Federalist Papers

The Federalist Papers Description

For the U.S. constitution geeks who don't think the constitution is enough.

The Federalist Papers are a series of 85 articles written in support of the new U.S. constitution which replaced the very flawed Articles of Confederation. Published under pseudonyms, authors Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, and John Jay spelled out the reasons why the new constitution should be ratified. According to historian Richard B. Morris, they are an "incomparable exposition of the Constitution, a classic in political science unsurpassed in both breadth and depth by the product of any later American writer."

The Federalist Papers are a natural choice for inclusion in the American DNA section of the 'United States Constitution' app found in the Android Market. I did not include it because it would have doubled the size of the that app and I want to maintain a little size discipline, so to speak. So after many request I created 'The Federalist Papers'. It's not annotated like the Constitution, but it does contain a search feature which should make personal analysis a little easier. I'll be making improvements as I go of course, so for now here you go.

Awwweesome!Hey Ken, I was wondering if you could tweek the title part to include the pen names and dates. I like knowing who wrote it up front, but it misses something without the fact that they were hiding behind pseudonyms and it took years to really pen them down, pun intended. :) Something like Penned by Publius aka Hamilton Sept. 12, 1787 or Penned by Hamilton as Publius, Sept. 12, 1787. This would help frame a future app that includes Cato, Brutus, Centinel, Federal Farmer, and more. Cheers and Thank You!
Good resourceWell laid out, and great for study.
Excellent resource!Another wonderful app, and a great companion to your US Constitution app. Anyone interested not only in the Constitution, but also why it's written as it is should get both of these apps. An Anti-Federalist Papers edition would make this a must-have trilogy for any US History buff!
