Dicom Studio is a DICOM image processing tool for Android devices. DICOM files can be viewed, edited, and saved in JPG or PNG format. The Dicom Studio file explorer lets the user browse to and open DICOM files saved on the Android device. Medical images in JPG, BMP, or PNG format can also be viewed and edited. The Dicom Studio gallery can be used to open images downloaded from the web, pictures saved from text messages, or photos snapped using the Android Camera.
Image Processing filters and transforms avaiable to the user include:
Spatial Smoothing Filters
Median (Salt & Pepper) Filter
Pixel Value Thresholding
Gradient Edge Detection
Dilation
Contrast Stretching
RGB Color Removal
Grayscaling
Dicom Studio uses the Droid Dicom Viewer library created by Pierre Malarme. Therefore, Dicom Studio is not certified as a medical device for primary diagnosis or clinical practice, and only grayscale uncompressed DICOM images that are coded in 8 bit or 16 bit are supported.
